The U12 squad undertook the annual tour to Llandudno with 23 boys in good spirit. Starting with an evening stop off at Cheshire Oaks to undertake some tenpin bowling before heading on to our accommodation in Llandudno.
The tours first fixture was against St Davids College. In picturesque settings and a fresh autumnal morning the squad began well and tackled well above their weight. However, after weathering the storm for large parts of the game the team was unable to stop the larger of the two sides. In the end, the team were valiant losers but gained a great deal and progressed hugely both individually and collectively.
Following our fixture the squad headed to the Zip World, Conwy. Here the squad burned off even more steam and enjoyed each other company. From here the squad travelled back to Llandudno to conquer the Great Orme (by funicular and walked back down. The squad finished the day with a visit to Llandudno pier and the arcade.
On our final morning the boys enjoyed a well deserved breakfast and moved out early to travel to Wirral. Here the squad played two games against Wirral GS. Both teams showed great improvement and were able to put into practice their reinforced skills and enthusiasm to emerge victorious and finish the tour on a high.
All boys were a pleasure to spend time with and did themselves proud both on and off the pitch. It was pleasing to note that comments from the hostel staff cited that the group were one of the most polite and well mannered in recent memory.
Thanks most also go to Mr Holmes for his efforts in organising the tour, aswell as Mr Parker and Mr Chadwick for their support.
